Information Sharing

Information sharing and suspicious activity reporting are focused topics of every discussion related to critical infrastructure and key resource protection. Yet, today, despite the noteworthy efforts of many agencies, there is no universally agreed upon means of collecting, collating, and disseminating this critically important information. TrapWire addresses this challenge by providing a structured methodology that enables the recording of a suspicious activity in less than 60 seconds. More importantly, the TrapWire system empowers the leadership responsible for infrastructure protection by providing a means of rapidly querying and analyzing data to identify trends or patterns suggestive of pre-attack operations in sufficient time to intercede. To facilitate the sharing of recorded information, TrapWire is unique in that it does not require the users to capture, store, or share any sensitive or personally identifiable information.

The power of TrapWire is multiplied by the Network Effect. Through the information sharing properties of the system, each subscriber is made immediately aware of events occurring elsewhere that may be linked by the TrapWire software to reports submitted by their own facilities. In such a manner seemingly isolated events (as seen by one facility) become patterns of behavior worthy of investigation as viewed by a sector or region. This Force Multiplying Effect can be extraordinarily effective in identifying attack planning activities in sufficient time to intercede. Deploying and subscribing to the TrapWire service essentially extends your perimeter security to the perimeter of the network.
